EXPERT IN HUMAN PERFORMANCE · MENTAL TRAINING · QUEBEC
I don't teach performance.
I make it sustainable.
I've spent 40 years observing what chronic pressure does to the brain, decision-making, and leadership of high-performing women — and passing on what allows them to endure, choose, and shine — without burning out.

MANIFESTO
What I believe
Sustainable performance is a state you maintain, day after day.
Stress is a useful signal. What wears you down is not having the tools to decode it.
I work on your mechanisms: the concrete patterns that drive your reactions under stress.
Resilience comes from training, repeated and regular.
A woman who is superb under pressure knows how to come back to herself, at will.
MY JOURNEY IN 4 MOMENTS
35+ years of expertise under pressure
It all started with a last-minute decision. My father gave me a love for understanding people and the brain; I turned toward occupational therapy instead of engineering, and I never regretted it. A few years later, on a tatami mat, I learned the lesson that would ground my entire practice: understanding isn't enough — it's repeated training that transforms reflexes.
For decades, I supported people facing complex challenges around their internal patterns, their stress response, their automatic reactions under pressure. That work taught me something fundamental: the way we function has an extraordinary capacity to be reshaped, when it's built on the right principles.
My approach is deeply influenced by training principles drawn from the martial arts and Qi Gong: intentional presence, internal stability, mastery of attention, and the ability to act with precision under stress. These foundations support human performance, mental clarity, and decision-making in demanding contexts.

The field before the theory
A path rooted in the corporate, medical, and business worlds: functional rehabilitation, interim director of rehabilitation services at a hospital center, consulting for insurance companies, and founding the Ergo Énergie clinic.
Years spent observing, from the inside, the effects of chronic pressure on the body, the brain, decisions, leadership, and human performance. Before the models, there was the field.

Martial arts, Qi Gong, and the Padovan Method
Performance lived before it was taught
Not a course taken. A discipline lived. Internal stability, precision under pressure, mastery of attention — learned in the body before being understood in the mind. It's this difference — lived before it was taught — that makes my approach recognizable.

Science in service of lived experience
Trained in Positive Intelligence® under Shirzad Chamine, New York Times best-selling author, a program tied to the Stanford and Yale Business Schools. A defining encounter: finally, a scientific framework that names and measures what I had observed for 35 years in the field.

Today
Performance Lucide™ for
women leaders
The application of this entire journey to a specific context: women leaders and entrepreneurs who perform under chronic pressure and are looking to reclaim their presence, their radiance, their grounding. This is the project of my professional life.
The story few people know

I saw resilience up close first. My father, faced very early in my life with a serious diagnosis, chose not to let himself be defined by what medicine told him. That lesson stayed with me.
Later, in the thick of my active life — young children, career, family — a disabling illness left me immobilized for nearly two years. It called into question my identity, my ability to function, my very way of being.
I learned, concretely, not in theory, what it means to regulate without exhausting yourself further. To rebuild without forcing. To remain yourself when everything pushes you to disappear into a diagnosis.
“Resilience doesn't come from willpower. It comes from training. Everything I offer my clients, I went through first.”
I do this work because I know, with certainty, that this can be trained. I learned it from the inside, long before I ever taught it to anyone.
Today, mother of two adult children and in a relationship for more than 40 years, I know this journey isn't behind me. It has become the foundation of my vision — in my work, and in my life.
MY METHOD — PERFORMANCE LUCIDE™
Mental training — an approach grounded in science and embodied by 40 years of practice
I work on your internal mechanisms — the automatic patterns that take over under stress, before you've even had time to choose.
I started martial arts at age 10. I thought understanding a movement was enough to be able to reproduce it. But in the moment of combat, my body went back to its old reflexes. The principles of martial arts, for their part, have trained these same capacities for centuries — presence, stability, mastery of attention — through the observation and practice of the body, long before modern science described them through factor analysis.
PILLAR 1
Daily mental training
15 minutes a day, built into your existing routine. Not an hour of meditation. A structured, measurable mental training, supported by the PQ® app for 12 months
PILLAR 2
Behavioural science and neuroplasticity
The principles of neuroplasticity applied to performance. Not theories — verifiable, measurable mechanisms. A study of 2,000+ participants documents concrete changes after 6 to 12 weeks.
PILLAR 3
Expertise that's lived, not just taught
40 years of practicing martial arts and Qi Gong. Intentional presence, grounding, mastery of attention under stress — lived before being taught. That's what makes this work different.

COACHING vs MENTAL TRAINING
This isn't coaching.
It's mental training.
“What most people learn to run from, we learn to read. Stress is, first and foremost, a signal — information your system is sending you. And very often, it's what generates the drive to act. The problem is never the stress itself. It's not having the tools to decode it.”
“I don't work on your limiting beliefs. I don't ask you to explore your past. I work on your internal mechanisms — the automatic patterns that take over under stress, before your intelligence is even available.”
Traditional coaching vs. Mental training with Lucie Montpetit
MY METHOD — PERFORMANCE LUCIDE™
5 convictions about the performance of women leaders
01
Sustainable performance depends far more on internal mechanisms than on discipline alone.
Discipline wears out. Mechanisms, once trained, work on your behalf. That's why daily mental training — 15 minutes — produces more results than heroic resolutions.
02
Burnout begins in the brain's attentional and executive mechanisms, well before visible signs appear in the calendar or in outward behaviour.
Well before the visible signs appear, it's already taking hold. You make worse decisions, you react faster, you ruminate more often. If you intervene early, you avoid the crash.
03
Hypersensitivity in women leaders isn't a flaw. It's an under-used sensor.
Well decoded, your hypersensitivity gives you access to signals your peers don't perceive — about your teams, your decisions, your market. Poorly decoded, it exhausts you. The challenge: learning to translate it rather than to calm it.
04
Impostor syndrome is deactivated more by repeated training than by positive thinking alone.
Telling yourself “I'm capable” isn't enough. The voice that resists speaks louder. Identifying the voice, naming it, observing it, choosing a different response: that's a protocol, not an affirmation. And it can be trained.
05
Presence is cultivated, the way an athlete cultivates their fitness.
Being “present” in a meeting, a pitch, a conflict, with family: cognitive availability is a trainable capacity. Martial arts have known this for centuries. Behavioural science confirms it today.
WHO THIS WORK IS DESIGNED FOR
You may recognize yourself in one or more of these situations
- You perform, but you feel something is happening underneath, silently.
- Chronic stress has settled in gradually and you're struggling to see its edges.
- You carry everything, and you carry it alone, even when surrounded by a team.
- You want to reclaim your presence, your radiance, your decision-making clarity — not just “manage.”
- You're comfortable in English if your program includes the PQ® Program (the Positive Intelligence theoretical material is in English; the coaching itself is delivered in French).
- You're ready to train 15 minutes a day — not to stop everything.

“Reclaim the superb woman you are — present, grounded, radiant under pressure.”
Out of mutual respect, here is what this program is not:
- It's not therapy. If you're looking to explore your past in depth, a psychologist is a better choice.
- It's not training to be consumed passively. Flexible, daily practice is non-negotiable.
- It's not a quick fix in a single session. Lasting results appear between week 4 and week 12.

FAQ « WHO IS LUCIE MONTPETIT »
Everything people ask me about my journey and my method
Who is Lucie Montpetit?
Lucie Montpetit is a Quebec-based expert in human performance and a mental-training consultant,
based in Mont-Tremblant, serving Greater Montreal and the Laurentians in person, and the rest of Canada and Europe by videoconference. Since 2021, she has been guiding women leaders, managers, and high-responsibility professionals through the Performance Lucide™ method, built on 40 years of martial arts and Qi Gong practice, complemented by the Positive Intelligence® program, applied as designed.
What is Lucie Montpetit's training background?
Lucie is a PQ Coach™, trained in Positive Intelligence® under the teachings of Shirzad Chamine, New York Times best-selling author and creator of the Positive Intelligence® program. She holds a B.Sc.(OT) from McGill University and has 35 years of hands-on experience in human performance in clinical settings, along with 40 years of personal practice in martial arts and Qi Gong.
Where is Lucie Montpetit based?
Lucie is based in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec (Canada). She serves the Greater Montreal region as well as the rest of Quebec and French- and English-speaking Canada — most sessions take place by videoconference.
What's the difference between Lucie Montpetit and a traditional coach?
Where traditional coaching explores beliefs and the past in one-off sessions, Lucie works on your current internal mechanisms through short, daily mental training. Her approach already existed, built on 40 years of personal practice in martial arts, Qi Gong, and neurofunctional reorganization, which have long trained the same capacities that science now calls neuroplasticity. The Positive Intelligence® program, itself founded on these principles, was added to her toolkit, applied as designed and measurable via the PQ® Score, in harmony with her professional observations and personal practice. Few practitioners combine both in Quebec.
What is the Performance Lucide™ method?
Performance Lucide™ is Lucie Montpetit's proprietary method, born of 35 years in clinical settings and 40 years of somatic practice (martial arts, Qi Gong, neurofunctional reorganization). Lucie integrates Shirzad Chamine's Positive Intelligence® program into it, applied as designed, sometimes as occasional support, sometimes as the main tool of the coaching relationship. The work unfolds with ease — foundations first, with complexity added gradually as each client progresses.
Who does Lucie Montpetit work with?
With women leaders, managers, entrepreneurs, and high-responsibility professionals. Since 2021, Lucie has focused specifically on human-performance coaching — following a 35-year career in functional rehabilitation with people under pressure. She also works with companies through Lunch-and-Learns for executive committees and leadership teams.
Is Lucie Montpetit's work a form of therapy?
No, this is not psychotherapy. Lucie's approach is results-oriented mental training, structured over 3 months, that works on current mechanisms rather than exploring the past. For therapeutic support, she recommends consulting a mental-health professional.
Why does Lucie talk about “mental training”?
The term “mental training” conveys the idea that resilience, clarity, and presence under pressure are trainable, the way an athlete trains their body, or a musician their instrument. It's a structured, daily, measurable method, designed for people who need to perform in real life.
How many years of experience does Lucie Montpetit have?
35 years of hands-on expertise with people facing challenges under pressure — and, since 2021, specifically with women leaders. Added to that are 40 years of personal practice in martial arts and Qi Gong, which directly inform her approach to presence and internal stability under stress.
How do you book a session with Lucie Montpetit?
Lucie offers a free 40-minute discovery session by videoconference, with no commitment. It's a chance to clarify your situation, determine whether her method is right for you, and choose the right format (individual coaching, corporate Lunch-and-Learn, or intensive group program). Booking is done directly on her website: Performancelucide.com
Why is mental training even more relevant in the age of AI?
Because your brain hasn't changed since the African savannah. It's still wired to spot a lion, not to keep pace with the transformations AI is imposing everywhere, at high speed. What will set you apart in this transition isn't your processing speed — AI will always win that race — but your presence, your discernment, your ability to stay grounded under pressure. Those are exactly the capacities Performance Lucide™ trains.

Your clarity hasn't disappeared.
It's waiting to be found again.
In 40 minutes, we identify what's limiting your performance right now. No commitment. No pressure. Just an honest conversation.
